No. Take Thai is an independent, locally owned restaurant with one location at 12908 Factory Lane, Suite 103, Louisville, KY, 40245.
To ensure quality, our ingredients are prepared by hand daily and items are cooked to order. High-demand items may occasionally sell out while we prepare a fresh batch from scratch.
We use pre-sized servings of Thai chili flakes. One serving is Mild, two is Medium, and so on.
Spice tolerance is subjective. We suggest starting one level lower than you think you will enjoy; you can always add more spice to your dish after tasting it.
For those new to Thai cuisine, we highly recommend our signature Pad Thai as a perfect starting point. Our customers consistently call our Pad Thai the best in Louisville. Come find out why!
Our Pad Thai is made from scratch using Chef Ann's traditional Thai recipe, rooted in the coastal cooking style of her hometown in Huai Yang, Thailand. We use fresh-cut vegetables, real tamarind-based sauce, and cook every order in a wok to order. No shortcuts, no frozen ingredients. It’s the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and tangy!
Our Pad Thai can be made with chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, mixed seafood, tofu, or vegetables only. It is naturally gluten-free.
Our most popular dishes beyond Pad Thai are the Green Curry, Yellow Curry, Tom Kha soup, Pad Gra Paow (Thai basil stir-fry), and our Thai Rangoon made with 100% real crab meat — a customer favorite! As we like to say: come for the Pad Thai, discover the rest!
Take Thai was founded by Chef Ann and her husband Chris in 2024. Chef Ann grew up in Huai Yang, Thailand, where she was inspired by her mother, who was well known in her village for her homemade dishes. After more than a decade managing restaurants in the U.S., Chef Ann brought her dream of sharing her Thai food recipes to Louisville, Kentucky.
Yes. ‘Authentic’ is a broad term for any cuisine. In Thailand, different regions may have slightly varying recipes for the same dish. Our menu is built around the ‘traditional’ flavors Chef Ann grew up with in Thailand. You'll find familiar favorites like Pad Thai and Tom Kha, as well as traditional dishes less common in American Thai restaurants, like Som Tum (green papaya salad), Pad Gra Paow (Thai basil stir-fry), and Pad Prik Gaeng (stir-fry chili paste).
Yes. Take Thai was voted one of Louisville's Best Thai Restaurants (Top 4) and Best Takeout (Top 5) by LEO Weekly Readers' Choice Awards 2025. Nextdoor's 2025 Neighborhood 'Fave', and we have also been featured in the Courier-Journal's 'Best Place I ate this Week', Louisville Business First, LEO Weekly online, LouisvilleHotBytes.com, and listed in Food & Dining Magazine.
