Do you offer dine-in, takeout, and delivery?

Take Thai provides full service for dine-in, takeout, and delivery (via DoorDash).

Why are your prices on DoorDash higher than your website prices?

DoorDash delivery prices reflect a platform commission fee. To pay our standard menu prices, please select the "Pickup" option on DoorDash or order directly through the Take Thai website.

If I order delivery from your website, does the tip go to the restaurant staff?

For "DoorDash Drive" orders, the tip goes directly to the driver. If you prefer to tip our internal restaurant staff, we recommend placing a pickup order.

The Menu Experience

Why do you have certain items available some days, but not other days?

To ensure quality, our ingredients are prepared by hand daily and items are cooked to order. High-demand items may occasionally sell out while we prepare a fresh batch from scratch.

How do you measure spice levels at Take Thai?

We use pre-sized servings of Thai chili flakes. One serving is Mild, two is Medium, and so on.

Is "Medium" spicy going to be too spicy for me?

Spice tolerance is subjective. We suggest starting one level lower than you think you will enjoy; you can always add more spice to your dish after tasting it.

What is the best Thai dish for first-timers?

For those new to Thai cuisine, we highly recommend our signature Pad Thai as a perfect starting point. Our customers consistently call our Pad Thai the best in Louisville. Come find out why!

About Our Pad Thai & Signature Dishes

What makes Take Thai's Pad Thai different from other restaurants?

Our Pad Thai is made from scratch using Chef Ann's traditional Thai recipe, rooted in the coastal cooking style of her hometown in Huai Yang, Thailand. We use fresh-cut vegetables, real tamarind-based sauce, and cook every order in a wok to order. No shortcuts, no frozen ingredients. It’s the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and tangy!

What protein options are available with your Pad Thai?

Our Pad Thai can be made with chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, mixed seafood, tofu, or vegetables only. It is naturally gluten-free.

Besides Pad Thai, what dishes do you recommend?

Our most popular dishes beyond Pad Thai are the Green Curry, Yellow Curry, Tom Kha soup, Pad Gra Paow (Thai basil stir-fry), and our Thai Rangoon made with 100% real crab meat — a customer favorite! As we like to say: come for the Pad Thai, discover the rest!

About Take Thai & Chef Ann

Who is the chef at Take Thai?

Take Thai was founded by Chef Ann and her husband Chris in 2024. Chef Ann grew up in Huai Yang, Thailand, where she was inspired by her mother, who was well known in her village for her homemade dishes. After more than a decade managing restaurants in the U.S., Chef Ann brought her dream of sharing her Thai food recipes to Louisville, Kentucky.

Is the food at Take Thai authentic Thai cuisine?

Yes. ‘Authentic’ is a broad term for any cuisine. In Thailand, different regions may have slightly varying recipes for the same dish. Our menu is built around the ‘traditional’ flavors Chef Ann grew up with in Thailand. You'll find familiar favorites like Pad Thai and Tom Kha, as well as traditional dishes less common in American Thai restaurants, like Som Tum (green papaya salad), Pad Gra Paow (Thai basil stir-fry), and Pad Prik Gaeng (stir-fry chili paste).

Has Take Thai received any recognition or awards?

Yes. Take Thai was voted one of Louisville's Best Thai Restaurants (Top 4) and Best Takeout (Top 5) by LEO Weekly Readers' Choice Awards 2025. Nextdoor's 2025 Neighborhood 'Fave', and we have also been featured in the Courier-Journal's 'Best Place I ate this Week', Louisville Business First, LEO Weekly online, LouisvilleHotBytes.com, and listed in Food & Dining Magazine.
